Hello, I’m Miss Weaver and I’m the Reception class teacher. I’m keen to get stuck into the engaging Mini Missions and immersive curriculum.

When I’m not at work, I love experimenting with different ingredients and baking homemade goods. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends.

I’m Miss Greene, I am a Reception learning support teacher. My passion is being creative when teaching and inspiring our pupils to learn.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy exploring the wonderful wide world with my son. We love going on adventures and discovering new outdoor environments. When I have free time, I love crafting for my business.​

We believe Reception is the year children’s learning starts to ‘come to life’ as they begin learning to read and write, allowing them to start their journey into being creative, motivated learners.  

What We Teach

Using the EYFS statutory framework we aim to fully submerge your children in their learning through our meticulously planned topics based curriculum. Topics act as a vehicle to submerge our children into magical lands of learning, where children can feel supported by adults and their environment but are encouraged to achieve independence in learning.

Children will receive phonics teaching using our well-embedded Read, Write Inc. program. Children move rapidly from hearing sounds, to writing and blending independently. Sound sheets will be provided for home for children to practise with parents and tricky words will also be added when the child is ready..

In Maths we follow the White Rose scheme of learning for the delivery of our maths sessions. This provides a clear sequence of learning and progression for the children. Utilizing this curriculum in exciting and engaging contexts enables the children to develop and apply their skills to different scenarios within our topics.  We follow the CPA approach of concrete, pictorial and abstract to secure the core skills and use the Number Blocks to reinforce our children’s learning and knowledge.

How you can help your child

If your child is in Reception you can support their learning by:

• Reading every day
• Practice phonics 
• Activities are sent via Tapestry at the beginning of each Mini Mission.  Parents can update Tapestry to share learning at home to add to their fantastic learning journal.
