Meet The Governors
The Governing body is a group of volunteers who work together to;
- ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
- To hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
- To oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is well spent.
In a nutshell the Governors ensure the school is progressing and moving forward in the best interests of the children it serves.
Mr Graham Cole
Role: Chair of Governors
I am married with 3 children (all boys) and 6 grandchildren and we have lived in the Midlands for 25 years. Until my retirement my background was in international business management covering 12 countries for a Swiss building products company.
I am passionate about the outstanding progress the academy has made and our aim is to maintain that standard and continue to improve the educational environment for the children.
Mrs Rachael Trickett-Fryer
Headteacher
I have worked at Silkmore since I started my teaching career in 2013 as an NQT. I am incredibly proud of the journey which Silkmore has been on since then and I am privileged to have been a part of the team to help create the outstanding school it is today. As Deputy Head I enjoy the strategic challenge whilst remaining very present within the classrooms and with the children. I am currently Acting Headteacher for this half-term and looking forward to what I will learn during this period.
Mr Andrew Leese
Staff Governor
I joined Silkmore in 2021 as a teacher and I am still as enthusiastic about working here today! Already on my journey I have been privileged to have worked in several year groups and enjoyed being a part of the changes which have helped to make our school a wonderful child-centred institute. I chose to become a governor to continue the fantastic work which is already in place by our current governors and to hopefully add some classroom-based experience to discussions and to represnt our brilliant staff team.
Mr Keith Rogers
Resident in Stafford since 1988 I am married to Helen. We have five wonderful daughters and eight lovely grandchildren.
Prior to retirement I worked for Nationwide Building Society for 26 years and then Practice Director of Oakengates Medical Practice Telford for 17 years.
In February 2017 I was invited to become a local governor of the school and mostly recently became the Safeguarding Link Governor in September 2020.
Mr Ian Jones
I have lived in Stafford since 1984. I have two children and two grandchildren .
I joined the Governing Board in April 2020 having previously been a governor at my children’s school for 7 years and since retirement at another Stafford primary school for 4 years.
Before retirement I worked for Government for over 30 years working on schemes to improve the environment. I had responsibility for delivering multi team projects ensuring they kept to budget and time.
I am very much looking forward to making a contribution to the continued successful running of Silkmore ensuring the school resources are used most effectively.
Miss Laura Clemens
Hello, I’m Laura I have three beautiful children, I lived in Stafford for most of my life. Prior to having children, I worked for Esso Petroleum as an Assistant Manager also Health and safety Lead.
For the last few years, I’ve been on Silkmore’s PTFA as Treasurer due to having a child who has special educational needs, I was unable to continue my position within Esso. Being part of Silkmore is so rewarding to me and enjoy planning activities for the community and the school. I am enthusiastic about learning new skills and working with the school to continue being outstanding.
